Moths recorded on the Co-op

The Bend of Islands, which includes the Co-op, is an area of outstanding biodiversity, and so it is rich in invertebrate fauna, including Moths.

One of our members, Frank Pierce, has been recording the Moths of the Co-op and throughout the Bend of Islands for several years. Most are almost impossible to find during the day, but fortunately many are attracted to light at night where they settle and are easily photographed.

Frank has created a Moths Page on the Bend of Islands Conservation Association (BICA) website, documenting general information about Moths with a link to the current Moth list for the area. All species recorded have been found on the Co-op. This list can be accessed here.
